Sourdough Wild Ale 375ml $12.99

Brewed with a mash of raw and malted barley, oats, rye, spelt and lemon, this beer was fermented in used wine barrels with a blend of Brettanomyces wild yeasts and Marla Bakery’s San Francisco sourdough yeast. The finished beer is dry-hopped with tropical Mosaic hops. This unfiltered ale is alive in the bottle: drink fresh for a bright, passionfruit aroma or age to develop the wild yeast funk.

Brandy Barrel Peche 375ml $12.99

Historically, fruit-infused sour beers were a way of preserving the summer harvest. In that tradition, this blonde ale was added to brandy barrels with high-summer peaches, hand-picked by the Loewen family at Blossom Bluff Orchards in Reedley, California. We aged this liquid gold for six months until we needed a reminder that summer will come again. Pair with Prosciutto, crusty bread and fruit preserves.

Valley of the Heart's Delight 375ml $12.99

This sour ale is inspired by the agricultural history of the Santa Clara Valley. Long before it became Silicon Valley, it was known as the Valley of The Heart’s Delight, a fertile basin overflowing with fruit orchards. Brewed with foraged apricots, loquats and cherries handpicked by the Garden To Table non-profit, this collaborative beer celebrates and supports their mission to promote urban farming in San Jose.

As a patriot and statesman his exploits are legendary, and I believe it is in that revolutionary spirit that Boston Beer Company created the quaff that bears his image. Commercial Description:

Truly the epitome of brewing's two thousand year evolution, Utopias® is a blend of batches, some having been aged up to 19 years in  our Boston Brewery, in a variety of barrels. For this brew, the barrels are quite literally an ingredient, with different barrels producing intense layers of flavor that continue to unfold with each sip.  We began by using Jack Daniels barrels, but have continued to add to the array with Port pipes, bourbon barrels, congnac casks, sherry barrels, and most recently rum barrels.

Samuel Adams® Utopias® is brewed in small limited batches, each their own blend of different vintages. We brew Utopias® at a very high gravity using a wide variety of malted barley and a touch of maple syrup. It is then aged in a blend of scotch, bourbon, port and cognac casks from the award-winning Buffalo Trace Distillery.

Samuel Adams® Utopias® actually began with our first experiments with aging and blending in barrels with the creation of  Triple Bock® followed by Millenium®. It was with these brews that we began testing aging beer in barrels from various origins like bourbon, port, and cognac to discover each of their flavor contributions. Inspired by whiskey makers, we took the barrel aging process for Utopias® to another level by utilizing a variety of barrels and blending different vintages  to create a truly unique taste experience.

Speaking of anticipated lines of whiskey barrel aged imperial stouts, both shops have received a small allocation of the Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout. We're practically giving away bottles at $5.99 (limit 2 per). Unfortunately we weren't able to secure any of the variants this time, but they pale in comparison to the original, I assure you. Get it while you can!
